On March 10th, 2006, I hiding out in the middle of 200,000 people. What was I doing in the middle of these people - talking and listening. Hey they only speak Mexican and how did you understand them. Well between my broken Spanish and people who spoke both, I got a good feel what is going on withthem.
The majority of the people I talk to work over 50 hours a week at a low wage, no overtime paid, and that nobody wanted the job they were doing at the wages offered.
Are they illegal:yes they are but they should get the same legal that companies like Halliburton get.
In golf, it is known as a mulligan(a do over) but lets set up the systems to do the right thing.
You can't take out and send all twelve millions illegal out of country. It would be very costly for our government(have to raise taxes-about double) and very costly to our economy. Just crunch the number on your own. I want you to see for yourself; your might be truly amazes.
Rememberr this, you can't put a baby bandage on a giant gash. You will only die and accomplish nothing. The solution may take a year or two but one can be obtain as long as everyone stays focus.
Please expound on each point below, point-by-point:
1. Enforce laws on the books OR generate new laws that will not be enforced?
2. Crackdown hard on employers who hire illegal aliens, OR flaunt the law as usual?
3. Secure our border with Mexico OR open borders?
4. Amnesty/green cards/path to citizenship for them OR roundup and deportation?
5. Wage depression for poor Americans VS labor for "jobs that Americans won’t do"?
6. Do you support the mass demonstrations by the illegal aliens and their supporters in our country?
No pabulum! A well thought out concrete well-defined position with sharp edges is what is called for here.
“… nobody wanted the job they were doing at the wages offered.” Good point, but do you think that it is a good situation, or a bad situation? Please address point #5. above.

Concrete figures only, if you please. If I have to crunch the numbers I predict that the answer will be extremely cost effective. Perhaps you could crunch some numbers for us and put them in your response to point #4. above, eh what?

What’s your comprehensive solution that addresses each and every one of the various dimensions of the problem (let point 1. through 6. above be your guide)?
As a candidate for office, please flesh out your position on this single issue. To Hell with what anyone thinks – vintage William is what I am looking for here.
