There is no training for the Presidency of the United States of America. It's all OJT. Just being in the Whitehouse does not qualify one for the Presidency.

I would have voted for Hillary at the end of the Bill Clinton Presidency. Even up to about a year ago I might have voted for her. But with her track record in Congress, her "experience" would herald more of the same DC insider behavior as President of the United States.

Obama is light on credentials, although he is eloquent and a breath of fresh air politically. He is all about change, but his program for change seems to be "elect me for change".

No, I don't think so. I am certain that he will flame out in the big race. He just hasn't got the juice yet. Give him a couple of presidential election cycles and he could show some real promise.

John Edwards brings "In the trenches" experience in a critical area if we are going to get away from business as usual in DC. He has a very successful history of going head-to-head with the Corpacracy. A proven track record in one very critical area where it counts! His experience is real, hard earned authentic experience in a critical area for our Democratic Republic.

And although he is now a multimillionaire, he EARNED it the old fashioned way: He worked for it. He achieved the American Dream, emerging successfully from the ranks of common everyday Americans that are us. No silver spoon. He is not several generations removed from the rest of us, Bu$h style. He was born into and raised in a good solid working class family.

And he is able to more than hold his own with any Republican contender in debate. He has splendid credentials in organizing and presenting cases.

Elect John Edwards to make the case for his fellow Average Americans.

At this stage in the game, I consider John Edwards the best of the front runners. He's got my vote if we get the chance to pick him . . . let alone vote.

I would think he would be appealing to cross-over GOP voters too. I mean, he's so white and rich. He's also a sure winner with the lonely soccer moms.

First of all-this revised VofAz is ok, but there are some glitches..........or perhaps just operator error.

Anyway, Az Mod, I agree. I like Edwards also. But we have to work hard to ensure that Democrats are elected to the House and Senate.

Unfortunately, we are stuck with McCain and Kyl for a few more years. But we can support the Democrats who are already Congresspeople and as importantly, support those Democrats who are running for Senate seats in other States.

If Edwards can make it to the Presidency, he is going to need a big time majority in both Houses to get anything done.

PS. My Mom lives in Iowa. She is caucasing for Edwards and says that she sees a trend for him over the last week. It will be an interesting night tomorrow.

And I don’t think Gore ever really wanted to be president, although he would have made a good one. Ever since the Florida betrayal where I didn’t see any real resistance to the shenanigans I have felt he lacks the fire in his gut.

And then there was John Kerry. An honorable man, but what the Hey… ? Why was he content to take it like a punching bag??

But don’t get me started.

I saw Obama here at ASU last summer. Impressive. I think he is a good man, but I don’t think he can carry the day in the general election. And I am afraid he is a featherweight in the Corpofascist arena and will we will continue to be fed to the lions.

Of course Hillary has become one of THEM. Nuff said.

John Edwards is the one with the background and experience to bring us back from the brink of the Fascist abyss. I think he wants to take on the Corpofascist influence in DC, and I fear for our way of life if he doesn’t get that chance.

Lonely soccer moms, huh? Interesting, MoronInCharge. My wife is not a soccer mom, but she is for Obama. She told me a couple of days ago she doesn’t care for the way John Edwards speaks. I guess the Carolina accent is what she is talking about – not what he says. I wonder though if that is any kind of stumbling block with other women? I really wouldn’t think so, but my wife surprised me with her comment.

He has been my pick from the very beginning. I think the other two “front runners” peaked too soon, and I think that was backed into Edwards’ strategy. He is sprinting for the finish line. You know what I always say. Timing is everything in stand-up comedy, hand grenades and running for the finish line in Iowa.

(Well, I don’t always say that. In fact, I’ve learned the hard way never to say always! Come to think of it I should never say never either. Ok. Newyears resolution: I will never say never... always.)

I hear you on the glitches/operator error, indie616. In my case however I like to call it pilot error. Makes me feel more in control, a Macho thing ya know?

I suspect part of the problem is that we are still learning our way around the new and in many ways more formidable site. And much of the learning is by hook or crook. The fact that you click on the stars to give a rating of 1 through 5 which is translated into a score along with other votes is not intuitively obvious and is not spelled out as the scoring system was in the last revision level.

And my font color can be any color I choose, so long as it's black. And where did the pictures go? And ...

But don't get me started.

Yes, McCain and Kyl. You are dead right. We have to pack the halls of congress with democrats (or independents might be better) to restore some semblance of checks and balances, and to begin the arduous task of healing our structure of legitimate Constitutional governance and moving forward on civil rights again.

I lived in the Quad Cities area a couple of times. Worked as a consultant at the ALCOA aluminum plant in Bettendorf both times. Where in IA does your mom live? And good for her!!

I sent the John Edwards part of this article to the editor of the Des Moines Register. I should have sent it to the Quad City Times as well. Duuuhhh…

She lives in Sioux City--other side of the state. I was born and raised there, moving to AZ when I was 28 years old.....many years ago.

I am proud of my "home" state. Good, solid, hardworking people live and play in Iowa. However, I do not think they should have this much influence in the selection of the candidates. Worse, the Iowa vote is followed by New Hampshire. Could you find less diverse states? (perhaps Utah).

I think we need to reform the primary system completely.
Which may make for a good article and comment stream............

My deal with the top 3-

Hillary, while better than anyone the R's have, is the most pro corporate of the Dems.
Obama uses Republican talking points to attack Democrats, and in a general election, if people have to choose between a Republican and a Republican, they'll always choose the Republican.
Edwards has the populist, fire in the belly, got nothing to lose thing going. Unlike 2004, when he was trying to play the Southern card, this time he's all for fighting. That is why Faux News, and the mainstream media have ignored him.
