Hello IMPEACH BUSH.  Are you out there somewhere?  Hola?

It seems that we here at Voice of Arizona get a drive-by tirade from you once in a great while, and then nothing.

Well I still have a few questions about Jim Pederson’s position on ILLEGAL ALIENS and our NATIONAL SOVEREINTY!

On Jim Pederson's website he says:

The first step toward getting comprehensive immigration reform is to take out the gimmicks and stop the political games. We must demand that our elected officials stop pandering to the emotions of this issue.”

Subsequently he says:

 “Make no mistake, a guest-worker plan is crucial to national security. It allows law enforcement to meticulously track who is in the United States. And it allows us to effectively differentiate between the migrant worker seeking to care for his or her family and the al-Qaida terrorist.

I have a real problem with such an insult to my intelligence.  What is this liberal boilerplate about “the migrant worker seeking to care for his or her family”?  What is that if it is not “pandering to the emotions of this issue”?!?

And how does “the migrant worker seeking to care for his or her family” legitimize an attack on our national sovereignty!?!  It certainly seems to me that the issue is with the Mexican government and a Mexican society that will not help its own people to "care for his or her own family".  It is not our problem.  We do not have an obligation to care for Mexico’s offloaded poverty stricken peons here within our borders at the expense of our culture and nation!

Finally, let's give the millions of undocumented people already here an incentive to come out of the shadows. By doing this, law enforcement would know exactly who is in our country.

At the risk of repeating myself, enforce the laws on the books against the hiring of these illegal aliens.  That would incentivize the vast majority of them to de-migrate back across the border into Fox land.  Simple solution.  It would greatly minimize the border security problem.  Dry up the job attraction!

At the same time, blanket amnesty would be wrong. Along with the opportunity to gain legal status comes the responsibility to pay penalties for coming here illegally.

O brother!  Don't throw us that bone.  Reward the illegal aliens and the hordes will come.  What is it about the huge failure of the amnesty of 1986  that you cannot understand, or will not acknowledge?
·         It was supposed to be a one timer;
·         full amnesty was  “enforced” right out of the gate;
·         but the numbers legalized turned out to be 50-100% greater than anticipated;
·         and border security was never enforced;
·         while enforcement of employer sanctions was reluctant at best;

Some in Washington, D.C., are more concerned about playing election-year politics than actually getting things done. That is the motivation behind an unrealistic plan circulating in Congress that would require illegal immigrants to voluntarily turn themselves [in] to be deported.

Roundup and deport - another straw man.  I hear that charge only from the liberals and Dimocrats.  Let me reiterate: minimize the border security problem.  Dry up the job attraction!  Enforce the laws on the books.  Nail the illegal employers.  Make a few examples, and the illegal hiring will dry up faster than these unpatriotic employers could sing the Star Spangled Banner!  The vast majority of illegal aliens would deport themselves pronto!!

Here once again are the steps you should take, and the priority for their implementation:
1.  Enforce the laws on the books – nail the unpatriotic illegal employers!  Dry up the jobs!!
2. Secure the border.  That would be a lot easier close on the heels of step 1.
3. Deal with the Mexican government that is thumbing its nose at America.
4. Deal with those few illegal aliens left in the country.
    a. Criminals (ID Theft included) to prison and then out!
    b. law abiding business owners, workers; evaluate case–by-case with consideration.

The priorities have changed since my last writing, but the steps are the same.  Enforcing the law on ILLEGAL EMPLOYMENT is the lynchpin to a successful immigration policy!

Mr. Pederson, you skate right over that without even mentioning it.  Are you one of those corporatists that thrive on cheap labor from Mexico, masquerading as a liberal?

Get’er done, Jim Pederson.
