I have been watching what appears to me to be a coordinated attack on MoronInCharge by some names that have only recently surfaced here at VofA. Some of the exchanges have gotten pretty ugly.
The attacks are personal – issues be damned. That is degrading the site. It has been until recently a more cordial atmosphere of strongly held give-and-take on the issues. Not to say that it hasn’t gotten personal on more than one or two occasions, but the ugliness that has floated to the surface recently contains a new level of malevolence that is disturbing.
And the attacks are sometimes outrageously uninformed, uninformed to the extent that they reflect childishness back on the attacker.
One example is at least one comment that takes MoronInCharge to task for mopping up the floor with our friend William, who if you were here for the William political campaign wars you would be much less likely to champion for an attack on MoronInCharge, anyone else or the Devil himself.
The William of today is a shadow of his former whimpering, then belligerent, and finally aggressive self. William in fact tried to shut the site down for all intents and purposes with inane (hard to believe, isn’t it) articles that snowplowed everyone else’s contributions off the marquee post-haste. And that after many folks here at the site, including MoronInCharge, tried to accommodate William’s campaigning for office, and help him clean up his act.
Didn’t work! And over time he started biting the hands that were trying to feed and pet him. VofA finally banned him for a month and a duly chastened William eventually showed up once again.
So if you are going to use William as a shield for your frenzied uninformed personal attacks, you might want to consider me. I am the one that spearheaded the effort to shut William down in order to keep him from shutting us down. And I would relish the opportunity to get down and dirty with you, if you insist, on this or any other “issue”.
For any of you my friends, new found and old, that have the interest, open mind and ability to investigate the Saga of William at VofA, I am sharing the following – written in response to a past historical amnesia event.

For those of you that might not have been here at VofA when William went infantile on us about a year ago, let me present you with this synopsis, in chronological order, of his dialog as preserved in the Trash Category, before he was banished to the woodshed for a month by VofA. It speaks volumes, and will hopefully clarify the reaction of some of us to his current shenanigans.

Another benefit to following these links is that it will introduce, or reintroduce, us to some of the olde guard that have disappeared, and are sorely missed, here at VofA. You may wish to do a search on some of these MIA (Mucho Interesting Authors) in your spare time. I suspect you will find it entertaining and even enlightening.
