"WMDs!" "WMDs!" "WMDs!" Sound familiar? It's mid-term election again! Here's the script this time around.

Iran gets 30 days to show the UN its nuclear hand and, if the country continues to refuse to yield to pressure, get ready - the stage is set for our President to deliver up Armageddon to the faithful! StealthFlag400x300

Ever on the prowl for opportunities to protect Americans by combating evil - shorthand for implementing the Book of Revelation - President Bush has stated that the US will not accept Iran as a nuclear-armed state, exclamation point!

Remember Colin Powell at the UN with his flip charts and glossies with the circles and arrows? This time it's good girl:bad guy with Condi Rice and Josh Bolton.

Condi has failed to get the members of the Security Council to back strict economic sanctions if Iran refuses to submit to the International Atomic Energy Agency inspections.

Bolton's reactions boggle the mind: "We are very close today to taking the first major step in the Security Council to deal with Iran's nearly 20-year-old clandestine nuclear weapons program. It sends an unmistakable message to Iran that its efforts to deny the obvious fact of what it's doing are not going to be sufficient."

Yet, Iran's UN ambassador, Javad Zarif, who was denied a chance to address the Security Council before it set the deadline, has said repeatedly that Iran is not seeking nuclear weapons and will not abandon its right to nuclear energy because of international threats: "Iran will want to cooperate with the international community, but it does not accept pressure or intimidation. As I said, and I repeat: We are allergic to pressure and intimidation and we do not respond well to that.”

The US attitude is: "We didn't believe Saddam and we don't believe you!"

This is what our own Senator John McCain has to say: "There is only one thing worse than the United States exercising a military option. That is a nuclear-armed Iran."

His Reverence, Vice President Cheney weighed in last year with a Biblical spin on the opening: Israel might act first and "let the rest of the world worry about picking up the diplomatic pieces afterwards".

Are you ready for the pre-midterm election bombing raid? Poetic if Israel pulled that one, hunh? How about WWIII as Iraqi Shiites join their Iranian brethren to rise up as one against our troops? Sitting ducks led by a lame duck? A Seven Year War?

Remember back before we invaded Iraq? The sounds of fighter jets overhead. Long before they actually declared war, the sounds of jets over Phoenix grew to a horrible roar. They Practice before the real attack! Poke your head out your window and take a listen . . . It is gonning to happen again! The jets activity has increased to a new all time loud! Iran here come jesus!

He wondered as he read her thoughts if he was ready for the Rapture.

There are signs that the plan is working.

I hope Isreal does act first. I hope they hit Iran so hard they can't recover for generations. This isn't our fight yet. It's Isreal's. But we have their backs should it come to that. We can't very well go around and tell our Allies what to do.

Double A, Israel is more of a client state than an ally. It is a very special client state with a ring through our nose. It is capable of involving us in Armageddon (the Final Conflict at a place called Megiddo in Israel http://www.realtruth.org/articles/0201-wia.html?gclid=CNSOoNjKiIQCFTFjDgodQAykvQ ).

Israel understandably puts its own best interest first. For us to “have their back” as you put it plays right into their hands. Israel might at some point see it as in its best interest to ignite a conflict in the Middle East and draw us into it. That would be congruent with the doomsday apocalyptic prophecies of the “left behind” crowd and the visions of this Bus***e messianic regime.

One facet of this strange “alliance” is that our “ally” has spied on us incessantly over the decades of its existence since 1948. Now most allies do that, but client states are protectorates and one would think that such a state would be circumspect in such matters. Not so with Israel. This relationship is a classic” Tail wags the Dog” case study.

You are cavalier about Israel acting first, displaying all the indications of having been thoroughly wagged. You might want to reconsider your support for such a move. The ramifications for America and the world are potentially catastrophic.

Prometheus I here what your saying about those jets.
The chit is about to hit the fan and when it does June is right. Custer's last stand all over again. The only difference is no high ranking generals will get it, just the foot soldiers.
If only Bush could be like the other George you know Washington. He fought in battles while he wasspresident. Get his ass on a horse a let him lead the pack. Then he will be remembered a great man.

"Cavalier" AZ Moderate? You're far too diplomatic and tolerant of gross stupidity. It's one thing to hold and debate a contrary view but it's irresponsibly stupid to advocate a war that could easily escalate into the use of our nulear arsenal.

PNAC's "fight'em over there" Buttinski policy must be ended!

It's time these at VoA people began trying to get a grip on reality instead of basing their worldview on Rambo reruns.

Thanks for the nice feedback. Let me be serious for a moment - deadly serious.

Bush's plummet in the polls has been like peeling the layers from an onion. Dems and Libs were against the incompetent nut from the beginning. Then, Moderate support was peeled away, then others of the Republican persuasion and what's left in a distinct minority of Americans which includes the Religious Right and other rightwing nationalistic whackjobs.

Mobilizing this base to support an incursion against Iran should be inconsequential in the context of a representative democracy where the majority rules, but...

FastEddie has shown us that, with the signing statement, Bush and Cheney have no respect for the most fundamental democratic principles in the Constitution; Rdrover has shown us that Bush and Cheney have disregarded the law to listen in on our phonecalls and read our emails; AZ Moderate has shown us how Bush and Cheney pander to the Religious Right to retain their support; and, most recently, Jeano has shown us how, throughout all that, Bush and Cheney refuse to be held accountable.

Given this, plus the Downing Street Memos and other evidence, I believe Bush and Cheney are capable of unilaterally launching a pre-emptive attack on Iran.

They might use the Congressional mandate to invade Afghanistan after 9/11 as justification, just as they used it for invading Iraq. They might argue that the support of the rightwing whackjobs demonstrates public approval. Both defy logic, but that's Bush and Cheney's style.

What have they accomplished so far that's supported by logic?

I include Cheney here because I consider him the puppeteer, the wizard behind the curtain. Bush, like BAA Boy, is far too inexperienced and stupid to come up with these machinations on his own.

Condi and Bolton lost in their all-out efforts to get the UN Security Council to threaten military action if Iran didn't stop producing enriched uranium - never thought I'd see the day that Russia and Red China saved it, but they did!

Yet, popular opinion - domestic or international - has never mattered to Bush and Cheney. Like Prometheus suggests, it's time to keep our ears to the skies and pray to whatever God you believe in.

Newsflash from April Fool's Day plus one: Bush VooDoo transforms straw man into real threat!

US intelligence experts say Iran may coordinate terrorist attacks in response to any military action against its nuclear programs. Targets include American firms and civilians in Europe and the United States, besides the obvious ones in Iraq.

It suggests that Bush, Cheney, Bolton and company should back off if they're serious about "protecting Americans" and "fighting terrorists"!

On the other hand, Karl Rove may consider reducing Mt. Rushmore to gravel as one more indication that the Democrats are soft on terrorism!
