Is there a potential Nuclear Option awaiting Barack?

Many people are beginning to talk about Obama's invincibility in a head to head run off with McCain. I have heard it described this way, "If there was anything really bad (not that being a member of the racist church for 20 plus years and getting involved with both a non apologetic home grown terrorist and a crocked real estate deal or being married to a hugely racist wife isn't bad enough) Hillary would have hound dogged it out by now considering the size and scope of the Clinton machine."
Well, there might be a huge hole in that theory. Hillary is a political animal on a scale rarely seen in the United States. If Obama was a political animal, let's say a mouse, then Hillary would be a elephant. Being shrewed is her specialty. If there was something horrible in her Obama file she would not be the one to launch the attack.
And why you ask would she not launch? Racism. That's why.
During the debate the other night Hillary was asked if Obama could be President. Her answer was telling to anyone who has been watching the change of American culture as it applies to race relations over the last 10 years. Instead of say "yes" and moving on, she did what all political animals do, she exaggerated for effect.
"Yes. Yes. Yes.", answered Mrs. Clinton.
Now the only reason for a reaction so strong is to make doubly and triply sure that her point was made. that point? I AM NOT A RACIST! As usual, when the truth would have sufficed (like the Tuzla story) she went overboard. This is a clear indication that she understands what she is up against, a Black candidate. And like most American Whites today, she knows that any inference to a black person being any less capable of doing the same job is political and/or career suicide.
This brings us back to the possible real bad stuff on Obama or as I like to refer to it, The Nuclear Option.
It is my contention that Hillary is smarter than most, even in her own party, in a conniving kind of way. She understands that a McCain victory would be in her best political interest over the next four years. Rarely in our history has an incumbent Presidential candidate been successfully challenged from within the same party.
It is with this in mind that I believe she may well hand over any "black information" (no pun intended) to the McCain camp in the event that she is unable to usurp the Black candidate on the Democratic Ticket.
Understand, this is not to suggest that McCain does not already have his own "black information" on Barack. But because of the Clinton machine I believe that anything truly devastating that might come to light will eventually be found to have Hillary's fingerprints on it.
Yes. Yes. Yes. This is where we find ourselves these days. If you attack a Black person's record, history of judgment, friends and acquaintances or ability and experience, you (in my best Jeff Foxworthy voice) might be a racist. The accusation is just to easy to hit someone with, and as we have all learned, no evidence is needed, just a word taken out of context or the right person to make the initial accusation.
But what would I know; I'm just an Average American.
Special Post Script: Please keep in the mind the new rules in America. This possible future scenario is based on my unique life experience and is reflective of those people I have come into direct contact with over my many years on this planet. Unless you are white, you have no idea what it is like to be a white man in America and therefore you can not understand the inequities of my racial struggle. Much as American Blacks have a particular view based on their experiences, we American Whites do too.

| Thought some of you might find this interesting... Just a small sprinkling of things Obama will be asked to explain... From his own fingertips... From Dreams of My Father: "I ceased to advertise my mother's race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites." From Dreams of My Father : "I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mothers race." From Dreams of My Father: "There was something about him that made me wary, a little too sure of himself, maybe. And white." From Dreams of My Father: ; "It remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names." From Dreams of My Father: "I never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn't speak to my own. It was into my father's image, the black man, son of Africa , that I'd packed all the attributes I sought in myself, the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, DuBois and Mandela." From Audacity of Hope: "I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction." It is that last line I find most disturbing. I think many Americans will. |

How pathetic is it for a white man in America to beg / pander / plead for people to identify with the inequities of his racial struggle!? It's a joke right, please say you were joking... The article pointed out all the negatives about Obama's public image. All the ways he could be beat up by the republicans. All the stereotypes of America not being ready for a Black President. The entire republican attack machine will be based on scaring people into believing that the American way of life is going to somehow be altered greatly if Obama is elected. It won't be, one president cannot bring down a country (as recent history has proven) That constitution thing and that balance of power thing actually do work. Unfortunately, it looks like the notion of fear, fear, fear has already taken hold of some people. How much power do you really think a black president can have to implement his crazy radical ideas when the overwhelming majority of the legislative branch, the judicial branch, and the ever-so-powerful corporate branch is STILL WHITE! Shut the windows, turn up the AC and watch an old movie, maybe a classic like "Birth of a Nation." |

| Unlike with George W Bush, there is a lot of negative information about Obama's past and people can't say they weren't warned about it. Whether he loses the general election because he has too much baggage or he becomes a terrible executive because he has unresolved inner demons, which I took from his speech on race, people have been warned. But, as always, the people will decide what's important to them and vote with their guts. I for one will not take responsibility for electing a liar whose lies have been so openly exposed.

| In regards to the poll. I think she would rather see Obama become president than McCain so I doubt she would give any destructive information to him - she would have used it by now. |

| "Let's be honest here for a minute. Unless some political miracle happens (as in a brokered convention whereby Hillary somehow pulls out the nomination based on promises she will most likely never have to deliver on and by which the entire Democratic Party will irreparably spit for a decade or at the very least a full 6 year election cycle) Barack Obama is going to be the Democratic Nominee for President." AA, I hope your statement isn't true - even with major wins in all remaining primaries, neither candidate has enough votes to win the nomination. All Hillary has to do right now is stay in the race. There have been enough questions asked about Obama in the past coiuple weeks that the media may actually start digging into his background. All they need to do is find one or two questionable items and it may be all over for him. The one thing not too many seem to take into consideration is state delegate votes are not set in stone. When they get to the convention, the state delegates can vote for anyone they want to becaues there are no penalties for not voting for the candidate chosen by the state. The more questions that hit the table on Obama, the less likely the Superdelegates, who can change their mind at any time, are going to cast their vote for him. Everyone is trying to get Hillary to step down because they know the rules - they know they can go to the convention with lots of votes for Obama and end up with Hillary as the nominee. Not over yet! All subsequent rounds of voting they may do whatever they like; however, they tend to be drawn from the closest supporters of their candidates, and aren't likely to change. Toad = As for there having been no negatives on Prince George, there was plenty, the national liberal media just chose to ignore all of it. My big fear is that the national liberal media will once again back the conservative candidate, and not air his dirty laundry - divorced, adulterer, temper, associations with mafia / drug lords, Keating, and his skirting his own McCain/Feingold campaign reform laws. |

| As for the article, Obama isn't running as a black guy, or playing the race card, or avoiding responsibility for any of his own actions. Whereas Emperor s***forbrains hasn't taken responsibility for any of his administrations FUBAR conservative policies here, or in Iraq. |

View this Comment Here's another article on politico.com that puts the "race" vote - people who will absolutely not vote for a black man - at around 15%. It'll be interesting / depressing / encouraging to see if this number is actually higher, lower, or the same. The pledged delegates, not superdelegates, signed a petition to vote for the candidate the people tell them to vote for. An article on Slate.com outlines the entire process. Toad, are you going Independent and voting for the Nader / Gonzales ticket or what? |
