A senior Iraqi security official said he doesn't support a "pause" in the progression of troop withdrawals to analyze progress made form the surge.
I know the Dem's have said they would withdraw troops as fast as possible from Iraq but that premise may be shortsighted. The Iraqi official, named Mowaffaq al-Rubaie, says he hears the pledges but does not think it will actually happen.
Said Rubaie "When they are in the oval office, they will think twice and they will consult with the commanders on the ground," he said. "No American wants this mission to fail."
I support a troop withdrawal to the absolute lowest levels needed, hopefully we could simply take over for Blackwater and become security guards for Iraqi officials. That is, if busy public markets finally cease to being blown up every other weekend.
The fact is we'll be in Iraq for a long, long time, just like we're still in Germany, South Korea, China, etc.
The big question that no one in Wash D.C. is asking is, If we leave what happens to all that oil we went over there to get?
We'd better leave some troops to protect the real soldiers -of fortune- at Haliburton, Mobile, Shell, etc right? Or could we just have Blackwater do that?

I like your idea of nationalizing Blackwater. That would be poetic justice for this Bush agenda to privatize all government responsibilities including the military.
Really good idea! Conscript these bandidos and get them under civilized control. Keep them in Iraq on guard duty.
