It ain't that the truth ain't out there - Googling McCain Crime Hensley produces 68,800 sites.  Some of those Rightie Christian sites even trace a Bronfman Jewish Conspiracy right into McCain's bedroom!  WOW!

If you want to look at this as stradegy, I see why the Obama camp has been gentle on McCain.  First, McCain is actually his own worst enemy.  Let him talk long enough, and he will dig a hole for himself.  Secondly, he has complained about the media so much that it seems even they are turning against him, especially about using his POW experience as an excuse for such trivial matters such as not knowing how many homes he owns, and the Christian right has to be stymied at him using it as an excuse for him cheating on his wife with the present one.

I think the stradegy was to do 3 things, and they seem to be coming to roost at the same time.  The first is to let McCain use all the dirty arrows in his quiver.  It may hurt Obama in the beginning, but that is the stradegy, to take the damage early in the race.  The second is, as the differences between the dicipline, and message control of the Obama camp, and the seemingly circular firing squad style of the McCain camp, the various factions (religious right as an example) and pundits collide become more apperant, the McCain camp will fall in disarray by itself, become desperate and thoughtless, and give the Obama camp ammunition.  Remember that John McCain is running on a campaign whose platform is simply "vote for me because I am not Barrak Obama".  Bluster without substance, and avoiding the real issues that concern the American people will not go too far as the ecomonly continues not doing well.

And the third...Give them just enough rope to hang themselves.  I am sure that all of this stuff will come out in the end.  Just be patient.  John McCain will certianly give them an opening to intoduce all of the stuff we know in Arizona about him.

As for kid glove approach. Obama has not had to address his relationship with Bill Ayers, Tony Rezko, why his wifes  salary went from 121k in 2004 just before Obama's election to the senate to 317k in 2005. Then in 2006 the Bama earmarks 1 million dollars to the hospital she worked for.

Or should we discuss the Iraq war vote, the bankruptcy bill or the lobbyist sons of Joe Biden.

The Messiah sure stepped in his politics of "change" mantra. But you progressives are so easily fooled by shiny objects.
