Could it be that after yesterday's dramatic display of unity on the part of the migrant workforce that activism may be coming back into style? Like the fight we had in the 60's and 70's at Berkeley, being forced into seclusion because of our "Alternative Lifestyles" while all the time beating the drum of equality for all men and women, could yesterday's nationwide protests be an indication that these is still power in numbers?
The people who made the trek to those locations have a voice that must be heard. Migrants have been persecuted as badly as any group in America. They have not, at least not up until now, had the strength to stand as one voice and be heard. America needs this labor force and these people have done nothing wrong by getting active about a cause that affects them daily. They have broken only an archaic law designed to prevent the saturation of white, male culture. Well, the time has come for you men to rethink the word American. An American does not have to be a white, English speaking man who drive around in an SUV and has lunch with his accountant. It can also mean a family of 8 who dared to be free and made their way to American shores against huge odds to prosper in this country. They have brown skin and speak another language, this should not disqualify them from being Americans. They have worked hard and deserve to live here, just as your land robbing, Native American imprisoning, lieing, cheating forefathers did. This isn't a statement to start a fight, it is unfortunately just the truth. They have paid a price for their freedom far greater than most of you have.
They just organized over a half million people to stand together and say with one voice, "Freedom and Liberty for All", should this not be our rally cry?
Stand up for what you believe and have Ease and Grace in the line of fire. I salute you.

And get over the freakin' 60's crap. This is the 21st century and the world is a lot more dangerous. Even during the 60's you pot smoking airheads forgot that there were nukes pointed at us.
My God, I pray this is not the way of the DLP. One of you please correct this chick.
