I am not really hearing about our 3 missing soldiers alot, perhaps as I think we should be hearing about them.  It seems that this should be on every American's mind, perhaps prayers offered (for us beliving peoples) and we should talk about it as well.

I am beginning to wonder if our media is not talking about this more because they know what the logical conversation would lead  I wonder why they use the word "kidnapped" (talking a page from the Isrealis) rather than captured.  Remember now,  obviously, and there is no question that these soldiers are on Iraqi soil, and they are soldiers from a foriegn nation.  Perhaps kidnap is a word that brings up an implication that these soldiers are "victims". Of course, the neocon posistion is that they are not "captured" because they have been taken by an unconventional enemy.  But again, they are on a foriegn land in the role of combatant.

But I wonder more than that why we are not talking about the "humane treatment" of these soldiers while they are in captivity.  Why aren't our "leaders" asking the al Maliki government to insure that they are treated according to the Geneva Conventions Article 6?  In fact, why are most of our leaders ignoring these captured soldiers all together?  Why aren't of our politicians, especially our vets, and John McCain, who stands on his reputation as a prisioner of war?  Where are the prayer meetings?  Where is the public remerances?  Why aren't our leaders publicly expressing support for their families (they do not have to mention their names in public to do this) and encouraging the morale of those who search for them? 

I want to put my 2 pennies in on this.  Again, the logical conversation would lead to the fact that we have "codified" what torture is contrary to the Geneva Convention.  We can't discuss this, ask leaders in the nation where these soldiers are captured to insure their safety and well being because we have lost to moral grounds to do so.  In other words (and I pray that I am wrong here...Oh God please let me be so wrong) our inhumanity may have come home to visit us.  America has sold it's moral standing to an irrational, inhumane evil that has no care for human life.  We have become like the enemy we say we fight against, and have let an ideology just as evil infest our very ethical standards.  We have become what the terrorists wanted us to become.  Now "they" have a reason to exist.  In other words, we have one evil ideology fighting against another evil ideology for domination of this world.  As far as freedom, democracy, liberty, and privacy are concerned, at least al Quieda (and the like) they do not disquise their contempt for us.  We know what we will not be getting from them.

This, above all else is why we need to get rid of the neocons.  Not just Dick Cheney.  Now, we have no soft power, other than rhetoric and propaganda to protect our captured soldiers from the evil that we have visited upon so many others.

Pray for peace.  Pray for our soldiers.  God help us.
