Today In Mavericky Straight Talk /span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span> <Hit me to link up]/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>
It seems federal records show that McBush’s national campaign general co-chair was:/span>/span>/span>/span>/span> /span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>
- taking money from the Swiss bank UBS/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>
- to lobby Congress concerning its interests during the U.S. mortgage crises/span>/span> /span>/span>/span>
- while whispering sweet nothings of economic policy advice in McBush’s ear./span>/span>/span>/span>/span>
/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>
Also, it seems that after Gramm got a law passed easing regulation of energy-commodity trading:/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>
- California suffered a sharp run-up in energy costs/span>/span> /span>/span>/span>
- for which the energy trading company Enron was blamed. /span>/span>/span>/span>/span>
/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>
And it seems that in 1999 Gramm was successful in his efforts to /span>/span>/span>/span>/span>
- Roll back the Depression-era Glass-Steagall Act/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>
- thereby removing the firewall between the heavily regulated commercial banking industry /span>/span>/span>/span>/span>
- and the free-for-all devil-take-the-hind-most essentially unregulated investment banking industry - /span>/span>/span>/span>/span>
- an effort that paved the way for today’s pain and agony for the Average American /span>/span>/span>/span>/span>
- and obscene profits for the flim-flam artists and big boys while the carnival lasted. /span>/span>/span>/span>/span>
/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>
Now we can all see through the old spyglass that McBush’s political battleship is listing heavily from such torpedo hits as Charlie Black, the representative of evil doers masquerading as dictators, a real stinker of a revelation. /span>/span>/span>/span>/span>
/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>
But the old McBush political battlewagon may have taken a back breaker under the keel with this nuclear ‘Phil Gramm as his economic brain’ stinker. /span>/span>/span>/span>/span>
/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>
How does his rusting old campaign hulk under a thin coat of “straight talk” paint survive such a direct hit when his toiling political deck hands find out that McCain had a major subprime lender bank lobbyist whispering in his ear even as he, McCain, told the public that it was basically their tough luck if they lost their houses? Tuffa lucka me hardies - keep chipping rust!/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>
/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>
Oh yes – UBS. /span>/span>/span>/span>/span>
/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>
It seems that UBS has advised members of its former private banking team responsible for rich U.S. clients not to travel to America. That bit of prudence stems from the indictment of one of that team’s former senior executives, Bradley Birkenfeld, who US authorities have accused of helping a billionaire client evade taxes. /span>/span>/span>/span>
/span>/span>/span>/span>
Now THAT seems unseemly! /span>/span>/span>/span>
/span>/span>/span>/span>
While Birkenfeld has pled not guilty, UBS has decided to err on the side of caution just in case there are more bad apples in its apple cart – and McBush turns out to be a bad bet too./span>/span> /span>/span>/span>
/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>
Can we get this fellow to sign a pre-nuptial impeachment agreement just in case?/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>
/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>
/span>/span>
/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>/span>

Digg It!
DOH!
If you can't trust Swiss bankers to help you commit a felonious tax avoidance schemes, what the hell good are they for?! I mean, really, if your banker turns over all their records, after having charged you to break tax laws, then you still pay the taxes, plus interest, I mean crap. What other reason do we elect Republicans for, other than to gut the IRS of any power of oversight or law enforcement!!!
