According to recent press release from the Libertarian Party, Mike Gravel declared himself a Libertarian and said that the "Democrats are out of touch with America". Mike Gravel is a former Senator and Candidate for the Presidential Nomination by the Democratic Party. I applaud Gravel for speaking the truth and wish him the best in the Libertarian Party. I am not suprised that Mike Gravel has become a Libertarian. It appears that both the Republicans and Democrats have lost touch with the core values of what is America. It also appears that the United States Mainstream Media have also been out of touch with Mainstream America and presenting people they think should be the president. Even FOX News did not allow any opportunities for Ron Paul to express his views. The same applied to Mike Gravel.

It is the same media circus that has fed the frenzy of Obama and Clinton fighting and Mc Cain attempting to present a cohesive policy. The same things that have pushed Bob Barr into the Libertarian Party have pushed Mike Gravel as well. The Libertarian Party has become to the dispossessed of the Republicans and Democrats what the United States was, a beacon of hope and freedom. After all, the Statue of Liberty is the symbol of the Libertarian Party and the poem: "Give Us Your Tired, Your Poor........those Yearning To Be Free" has become in my opinion a banner for those looking for freedom from two parties that have lost touch with the American People.
