To be really honest with you all,  I am happy to see the media reporting the survey polls showing the margin slimming, andthe Republicans gaining ground.  Of course, if you just read only the first sentance, you will miss why.

Why you ask am I happy?  Well, to me, it is like the leader of a race looking back and seeing his opponent gaining ground.  If that runner wishes to win, he must put in an extra effort, more than he is doing now to overcome his opponent who is probably giving it all he has to catch up.  This makes everyone involved see the goal, and try to achieve it.

I was born in a nation in which there is a popular vote.  However there is only one person on the ballot, and simply by showing up at the polls, you vote for the one person. (they hand you a ballot, you fold it, and put it in a box.  No need to mark it because there are no choices)  I am so happy to have come here to America, where I can say what I want and no one (at least for now) can drag me off the street and "ask me" (read sarcasticly)  what I ment.  I am now a proud American citizen, and will never take my freedoms, privacy, and democratic responsibility for granted.  I hope that you all feel the same.

I will not express how I will vote, or any opinions here about the candidates.  My point is this...Get out and make your voice heard.  Do not be discouraged by polls, fraud that may occur, long lines, or whatever it may be.  I remember watching the Iraqi voters.  They voted regardless of the danger to them.

Do not think that you do not have the time.  A few minutes in the voting box will determine how your taxes are spent, and collected.  How social issues will be determined, and who will be in control of our land and other resourses, and most importantly, who will represent you in our government,.  This will have an impact for at least the next 2 years, and, as you know, some decisions they will make will determine the direction of this nation long after most of us are dead.  Remember our children need your vote too.

Remember to call your friends and neighbours, see if they need to get to the polls to vote.  Offer them a ride if they don't have one.  But most of all, vote, no matter what.  Help your elderly relatives gather the documents they will need to present at the voting place, and remember to take yours.

Remember, if you do not have the documents needed to vote a regular ballot, you can not be refused.  This is the law.

See you all at the voting place...Remember, your vote is your voice.  Scream it loudly and proudly !!!
