I pick up the Az Republic this AM and a headline below the fold catches my eye.
"McCain: Abortion ruling should be overturned"
I thought to myself-"self, isn't that different than his previously stated position?"
So I went the the internets and found this little gem from Saint McCain:
McCain on Roe v. Wade, Washington Post, 8/24/99:
But wait, he said this yesterday:“I’d love to see a point where it is irrelevant, and could be repealed because abortion is no longer necessary,” McCain told the Chronicle in an article published Friday. “But certainly in the short term, or even the long term, I would not support repeal of Roe v. Wade, which would then force X number of women in America to [undergo] illegal and dangerous operations.”
“I do not support Roe versus Wade. It should be overturned,” the Arizona senator told about 800 people in South Carolina, one of the early voting states. [emphasis added]
Now, did the AZ Republic tell us this was a change in his position? Nope, nary a word about that. However, the article did give us this: "Social Conservatives are a critical voting block in the GOP presidential primaries."
So, in 1999 he feared that womens lives would be in danger if Roe was overturned. In 2007, he could care less about womens lives. It should be no surprise really- he doesn't care about our troops either.
Leonard Clark has dubbed McCain as "Bloody." Here is more proof.

Digg It!

This is the kind of stuff that gets politicians in trouble all the time. Wonder how long this will be out there before someone on a national level picks it up. I mean - if this were Bush, he would be flogged with it on a regular basis.
Obviously, McCain needs someone to remind him where he stands.
