The Blue Devils were able to summon the basketball underlords yesterday to hold onto their respect and dignity. Belmont is now relegated to "what if" and "never was." It's too bad, they had it!!

After playing the game of their lives and being up 1 late, all the Lil Bruins needed to do was wind down the clock and get one more basket and victory was theirs. One one more bucket, just one!, to pull off the the most remarkable first round upset of all time, but they couldn't do it.

The Lil Bruins last three possessions were terrible. They didn't have a play to run, their go-to-guy forced a bad shot in traffic, then they just threw the ball away. The Lil Bruins didn't even come close to making another basket.

The Blue Devils were down 1, then up 1 but they held the Lil Bruins - as they should be referred to from now on - scoreless on their last three possessions of the game to squeeze out a victory.

Duke stars Gerald Henderson and Kyle Singler had gimme's to put Duke ahead but missed both shots. Henderson, right after his miss, grabbed a rebound and took the ball coast-to-coast for an unbelievably easy layup to win the game. Every person who's ever played organized bball was screaming Stop The Ball! Stop The Ball! but they didn't...
