Doesn't Tolarance Count?

I find it strange that this topic, over all else caught my attention. I am not homosexual (but enjoy partnership and sexual contact) not Christian (but a religious person), and by no means liberal (but choose to think for myself) but, no one has ever been able to answer this question. How does homosexual behavior destroy the sanctity of marriage, and destroy the moral fibre of America?...well, you get where I am going.

It bothers me that this has been a "single voter issue" for so long. It seems that as long as it has been debated, we would have resolved it by now. Actually, I am tired of this as a diversionary ploy by those who use it (this one and "abortion") to avoid confronting the real issues that will destroy the moral fibre of our great land.

It is funny to note that the "religious right" preaches fire and brimstone condemnation to those who practice homosexual behavior. However there is more likely someone amongst thier congregants who is abusive to thier spouse, molesting thier own, or other children, addicted to pornographic material, being unfaithful and other things I feel have been proven to be destructive to marriage. Sounds diversionary to me.

Hate the sin, love the sinner. As a people we have a right to make certain judgements based on our religious convictions. If we the people do not think gay marriage is appropriate, then it is not. We don't like drunk driving, drugs, molestation and murder. If you want to have these things made appropriate get them on the ballot. The gay community tried that and in every case the peolpe rejected the idea. Only activist judges overturned those vote in some states by the power of the bench, which they will soon lose their lifetime appointment due in no small part to those very desisions.
If you want to live in a moralless society, go to France. They are waiting with their gay arms open for you.

Can't we all just get along?

Two hot women going at it... is a great thing. I'll condone that any day. Two men going at it... ughh, grosses me out. But so what, it's none of my business.

So just think about it like this, if you were a women, wouldn't you want to be a lesbian?

Of course you would!
And so would I.

Throw religion out the window, and I think nobody would care either. The only reason that gay stuff got condemned by the church anyway was because some guy in rome wasn't invited to the sex parties because he smelled and was ugly. So they banned gay sex in Christianity.

One would wonder if some people might themselves to be gay and therefore they protest against this life style so they appear not. The fact that only 50% of marriage between a man and a woman succeed leaves me to the fact that maybe gays may have a better success rate therefore embarrassing their claims. I sorry but this is how feel. I believe that there are more important things to take of and this is where we need to focus. Lets take of our country because I believe us to be a showcase of love and peace.

Again with the perverted homosexual logic of if you speak out against the perversion of homosexuality you must be a homosexual.
This perverted homosexual logic does not hold up when it is applied to other things people speak out against. You know things like crime, pollution, war, terrorism, racism, and polygamy. So if you speak out against any of the before mention items are you one of them? No! The defenders of the perversion of homosexuality use this tactic to simply embarrass anyone speaking out against the perversion of homosexuality.

Now we also get the heterosexual marriage thing about divorce. If I recall the paper today said the perverted homosexual couple that filed the court case in MA filed for divorce.

I didn't even know of AA back in November, but I see he was giving travel advice back then. Well, I just got back from France. Their arms weren't gay, and they weren't open for me. C'est la vie.

It doesn't. Thats why it bothers you. The argument is flawed and makes no sense. Politics has become nothing but either a shell game or a smoke and mirrors game. Homosexual marriage would do nothing to the moral fibre nor would it threaten marriage. Any marrigae threatened by a coupla queers gettin' married probably shouldn't have been a marriage anyway.

(I am sure DHard will have something unoriginal to say about that one.)

I'd love to hear the answer to that question. I just love the way AA equated homosexuality, in all the glorious tradition of DHard, with "drunk driving, drugs, molestation and murder". Funny, I never had a fag hurt me. And my gay brother never molested anyone. I would love to see the logic behind that. Column A: Murder, molestation, drug abuse....Column B: Heterosexual marriage where two people love each other....Oh my. Where do we put Homosexual marriage?

Average American seems to be of the belief that a majority opinion makes things "appropriate". Following that out to it's logical conclusion, slavery has been appropriate, genocide has been appropriate, domestic abuse has been appropriate, lynching, etc... Clearly, these things are not appropriate no matter how you characterize them. To use your religion to justify bigotry is just cowardly.
