matter when one is talking about the high crimes and misdemeanors perpetrated by the Bush Adm; remembering the past keeps our current president on his toes! He had know idea of the dark and hoary minions of the status quo he would encounter.
The slithering beasts lurk and peer through every crevice of, what appears to be of the people, and their filth permeates all aspects of government. These creatures, minds filled sewage, exist under many names; Cheney, Bush, Negroponti, Rumsfeld, to name but a few. They and their minions are always lurking; and ready to return to seats of power in order to corrupt. They sink their blood drenched talons into us all; whether we realize it or not.
Hitler came to power thru questionable but ostensibly legal machinations. The seal on the deal was the “Enabling Act”, a “temporary” measure that granted him absolute authority.
The dearly departed Bus***e Regime’s “Enabling Act” is the misnamed Patriot Act.
The Enabling Act was itself enabled by the burning of the German Reichstag. Ours was enabled by the 9/11 attack.
While congress slept the Bus***es studied history. Then 9/11 gave them the opportunity to try to duplicate it while the cowards in Congress quailed in its traumatic shadow.
The German Reichstag had an excuse of sorts – it did not have a glaring well-documented example of the Nazi regime to learn from. Unfortunately the soil was fertile, and Germany learned first hand as a result.
Our senators and representatives have no such excuse.
We seem to have avoided the bullet for now. It is way past time, however, for the People’s elected representatives to grow the backbone to rescind this anti-Constitutional abortion and replace it with Constitutional measures as required.
This was a near thing under the Cheney/Bush regime …. And that’s scary as Hell! We ignore this Constitutional Trojan Horse at our peril!
