With Spring coming down the pike I think it is time we turn our attention to local situations that need debate, local issues we can actually affect.

Janet Napolitano is throrn in my side. Why you ask? Because she is wasting time and taxpayer money with her idiotic battle with Congress over this education bill. We are on the hook now for over 8 million dollars and the price is climbing. Her big problem is ELL (English Language Learning) . According to the Az Republic, Janet wants spending to top $1200 per student inside fo three years while the Congress is offering an increase to $432 per student, up from the current $355 per student.


After three vetos, what the hell is she waiting for? So far the fines do not represent a financial burden to the state because the state is accumulating a budget surplus and because the amount of money involved so far falls within the amount which Republicans want to spend. What happened to Prop. 200?

If we were following the guildlines passed in the bill we voted on and approved, we would not be incurring all these fines. But get this, the Az Republic also has the balls to say that the 21 million dollars in fines has not been a burden on the state because of the 1 billion dollar surplus. I don't care if we have 1 billion or 20 billion in surplus', this is mismanagement of our funds to the worst degree.  why do we let her get away with this. That is our money she's pissing away up there. The congress has made not one, not two, but three separate proposals to try to reach this woman and she continues to block progress and wastes money. She wants an increase of 300 plus percent, that's crazy. If we had done what the people wanted in 2000, this would not even be an issue. But she blocks that at every turn.

Next I would like to mention her total lack of compasion for illegals. She is encouraging them to come to Arizona by allowing the government to pay a portion of the cost for the water stations in the desert. By giving them the means to make a safe passage she only encourages them to come. Over 200 have died in the last 10 years. this is a good warning if you ask me. "DON'T COME, YOU DIE!". If I had a friend who was on crank, I would not leave out rat poison, sudefed and ether for him to whip up a bunch. These people are dieing to get here, literally. Offering them some hope is the last thing we can do. We need to make Mexico stop issuing maps to the water stations, rip them out of the ground and tell the Mexican people, there is a legal way to do it. If you come over the boarder the wrong way, you are on your own.

Finally there is the surplus itself that I would like to touch on. GIVE IT BACK! IT'S NOT YOURS TO KEEP! I can understand the idea of wanting to place some of that money in a rainy day fund for the state, makes perfect sence, especially when you look at the last 5 deficits we have had to dig out of. But we did, so let's think forward and be preparred. Place some odf it into interest baring accounts so it grows. Let's not spend it just becaus ewe have it. Janet sees that money as her ticket to all day kindergarden. If there were any benefits beond the third grade, I might see a reason for her support. BUT, there ain't.

Put some of it away, loke half, I'm ok with that, but give the rest back to the taxpayers, I guarentee next year you will have even more.  Works every time it is tried.

This woman must be dealt with in the next election...
