Funny thing: a lot of my creative (or if you prefer, bizarre) ideas present themselves to me in dreamland.  Where these ideas come from I don’t know.  All I know is I don’t own most of them. At least I don’t recognize them as belonging to my mental space.  But this one is a relatively mundane idea, as these nocturnal inspirations go, so let me share this example with you.  

 

It struck me in dreamland the term “Meta-corporation” would be a good term for the emerging New World Order.  So upon my transmigration to the waking state I started doing some thinking and a little research on this suggestion.    

  

What’s that you say?  “Multinational corporations will suffice thank you very much”?  I beg to disagree.  One should be careful not to mistake the multinational corporation for the world government, even though the global reach and influence of these corporations is becoming truly noticeable.  

  

The evolving world government is the “Meta-corporation”.    

  

To wit:   

  

Meta (from Greek: μετά = "after", "beyond", "with"), is a prefix used in English in order to indicate a concept which is an abstraction from another concept, used to complete or add to the latter.

·         "Meta" or "meta-", a common English prefix meaning "beyond" which often carries a sense of self-reference

My argument is that, while the multinational corporations have increasing power over, and independence of, national governments, they are instantiations of a higher order.  There are many instants of them and they are independent of one another.  While there is certainly a heretofore unprecedented level of collusion between them where they have common interests, they are for all intents and purpose entities that are in competition for survival and supremacy.  

  

Increasingly, the governments these entities influence are being molded through this influence into instantiations of the Meta-corporation as well.  The sets if interests of these multinational corporations and national governments are becoming harder and harder to distinguish from one another as the process of instantiation of national government as instantiations of the Meta-corporation multiply.  

  

So what is the Meta-corporation?  Let me draw from my background as a computer (click whirrrr).  

  

The Meta-corporation is like a schema (or schemata if you prefer). The schema is a blueprint from which endless actual structures may be spawned, but it is not itself an actual structure. These structures will be substantially the same, although they will be individuals, or entities.  

  

As one example, in a third generation hierarchical database system, it is the model for the files, records, pointers for navigation, and other structures.  It does not itself hold any inventory, or A/R or A/P data.  It does hold data about the structure of any physical database that is to be instantiated (made tangible through the creation of specific instances of it) and that entity will hold inventory, or A/R or A/P data.

Note:  Semantic may be loosely defined as "meaning" or “the meaning of”.  

    

To paraphrase Ra in Stargate, “There Can Be But One SCHEMA!”  But there may be many different subsets of it.  These are called sub-schemas, and they allow subsets of the Ra Schema to be defined (inventory for materials control, and A/P and/or A/R for accounting for example) and used to generate physical databases for those applications.  And these may be duplicated in Chicago, New York and Beijing to meet local needs.  

  

Now the sub-schemas in the New World Order are the blueprints for various “flavors” of  multi-national corporations on the one hand, and national governments on the other hand.  While the requirements of each category may differ, and therefore the sub-schemas will be somewhat different, those sub-schemas are generated from the common Ra Schema, and any multi-national corporation or national government spawned (oops - instantiated) from their respective sub-schema will have a very strong family resemblance.  

  

Hence my vote for the blueprint for The New World Order is the Meta-corporation.
