U. S. District Court Judge Anna Diggs Taylor ruled that the Bush regime’s program of spying on Americans’ phone calls and emails without warrants is unconstitutional and illegal.
The Bush regime’s response is to author the Cheney-Specter Bill to legalize the notion that the President can secretly and indefinitely spy on Americans without a court warrant. This proposed legislation presented to this rubber stamp Republican Congress is described by Senator Arlen Specter as a “compromise”.
This Cheney-Specter Bill allows the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court to:
- approve spying on American citizens without any evidence of wrongdoing;
- act without knowing the names of Americans secretly monitored, why they were being monitored, or how they were being monitored.
This Bill allows our government to:
- eavesdrop on the international calls and emails of American citizens and businesses;
- spy on Americans secretly, indefinitely and without warrant;
- do so without challenge to this abuse of power in the regular court system.
The brazen chicanery by Cheney and Specter raises the frightening specter that the government will be given a blank check to spy on you and me secretly, indefinitely and without cause.
Is this Unconstitutional and anti-American, or what?!?

So why again did we fight the Cold War against the USSR?
What was the point if we're just going to become the Evil Empire ourselves?
Can anyone remember back to 9-10, when the idea of the feds spying on US citizens w/o warrants or torturing detainees were the delusions of libertarian survivalist wackos living on compunds?
What part of illegal does the Bush Crime Syndicate not understand?
