Well, ain’t this just swell.  Bush, proving himself to be the decider in all manners, has become the judge in the Scooter Libby case.  Unsurprisingly, today our Commander Guy commutes the 30 month jail sentence for Libby.  I am sure that a full pardon will come at the end of Bush’s term.

And Smirky McWimpster didn’t even have the balls to stand up in front of the press and American people to announce his decision, but put it out in press release.

As I am sure that you all know, Libby was tried by a jury and found guilty of perjury, obstruction of justice and false statements to the FBI in the case of the “outing” of CIA agent Valerie Plame in retaliation for her husbands article in the NY Times refuting the administrations assertion that Saddam was trying to purchase yellow cake uranium from Niger. The judge sentenced him to 30 months in jail, a $250,000 fine and 2 years of probation.

So what does this mean?  And end to the investigation of Cheney, Rove and Bush’s hands in the outing of a covert CIA agent-Valerie Plame Wilson?  Can Congress call Libby to hearings to discuss how the unveiling of Plame’s name came to be-what role did Cheney/Bush play in it?  Does executive privilege apply in this case?

Or is the end for Bush?  Has he finally pushed the “explode” buttons of the Republicans who have to run for re-election in 2008?  Did he just throw his party overboard in the Presidential election and give the Democrats a huge majority in the House and Senate in 2008?  Are the Republicans going to take another hit to their careers and party by King Bush?

The American people are fed up.  We are fed up with the corruption, the lies and the special treatment for government officials and their rich and powerful friends.  The American people believe the country is off the rails.

This past weekend, the Chimpster and his Daddy managed to get their boat anchor stuck while fishing off the coast of the summer home in Maine.  They finally had to get a Secret Service diver to come and get them unstuck.

What an apt analogy.  Bush is stuck and the country is stuck circling, edging nearer the cliff.  The question is, who will be our Secret Agent Man to get us untangled from this disaster of a Presidency? Who will commute our long national nightmare?
