Did anyone but me see a chickensheit “president” of the USA sneak into the relative safety of Baghdad’s green zone, surprise the new Iraqi leader, treat him like a lackey, spend five (5) whole hours in air-conditioned comfort for a photo-op, then high-tail it outa there?
Contrast that with the American soldier, who is dumped into the hellish heat and daily mortal danger of this “president’s” occupation of Iraq for a year’s tour of duty to secure the Green Zone for Bush’s sorry ass, and then rotated out and back in, and out and back in…
… while the chickensheit chickenhawk in the safety of the climate controlled white house sermonizes that the soldier must stay the course.
Who is cutting and running? Who is staying the course? Who is making the most money out of this mess?
If I were one of those valiant soldiers, I would be seriously questioning this chicken hawk’s courageous five (5) hour tour of duty in Iraq. I would be seriously questioning his “leadership”.

| Robert Poulet. part time Galahad and observer of the passing scene, was asked about this and he replied that POTUS had to get back real fast because the Republicans needed the huevos. I doubt Mr. Poulet was referring to the egg on Bush's face over the incident you cite, Lars. But then, Bush has never been one to hang WIth the military - have you ever seen a copy of his DD214? |

| Also, look up the AP stories about President Gilligan's 5 hour tour; Bush made a statement about talking with alot of Iraqis, and "most" said America needed to stay the course. Then another story quotes the Vice President of Iraq and the President of Iraq saying they requested that all foriegn troops be out of Iraq by 2007, or at the least the President provides a timeline for withdrawl of all foriegn troops. So, most Iraqqis, meant just not the elected leadership. |

| Last time Bush went to Iraq, he brought a fake Thanksgiving turkey for a photo op with the troops - the same troops that were drinking contaminated water supplied by Halliburton subsidiary KBR. At least he didn't bring faux food this time.

| This is par for the course. Sneaky Bush and his sinister administration, did we really expect anything else from him? I'm so tired of seeing all of his photo ops. Just sickening how the propaganda is attempting to conceal all of his wrongdoings.

| Bush is a master chameleon. He hides in front of our troops for his photo ops. Lars, if I were an American soldier stuck out in the Bush quagmire in Iraq, I would be looking over my shoulder at Washington D.C. One eye on Bush and his rubber stamp Congress; one eye on Iran; and one eye on the Iraqi insurgency. If Bush goes crazy again on Iran, we have a major part of our stretched thin military caught in a Muslim no-man's land. Our troops will be fighting for their lives if this idiot gets trigger happy again while we are exhausting our troops in a garrisoning operation in the middle of a budding civil war. And even if we simply “stay the course”, how the Hell do I as a soldier continue to split the hair between staying alive where I don’t know who the enemy is, and not crossing the line and finding myself up on charges of murder. Captain Willard in ‘Apocalypse Now’ but it succinctly: “s***... charging a man with murder in this place was like handing out speeding tickets in the Indy 500. I took the mission. What the hell else was I gonna do?” What the hell indeed. If I was a soldier in Iraq right now, I would be thinking rather steadily about how to get the hell out of this no win situation that our “strong leader” back in the White House has abandon me in. “Oh man, the s*** piled up so fast in Vietnam you needed wings to stay above it.” Willard again. It’s uncanny how you can replace Vietnam with Iraq and the statements hold just as true as the did 30 years ago. This whole thing is insanity from the top down, and our kids are taking the rap for it in Iraq. |

| C'mon folks, give the RBIC* a break. After all this is the closest he's ever come to actual combat (and for the longest time too) I just wonder how many changes of underwear were required for the trip. *Rat Bastard in Chief |

| FROM DAILYKOS--- Tim Grieve at War Room is reading Ron Suskind's new book, The One Percent Doctrine: We've known for years now that George W. Bush received a presidential daily briefing on Aug. 6, 2001, in which he was warned: "Bin Laden Determined to Strike in U.S." We've known for almost as long that Bush went fishing afterward. What we didn't know is what happened in between the briefing and the fishing, and now Suskind is here to tell us. Bush listened to the briefing, Suskind says, then told the CIA briefer: "All right. You've covered your ass, now." Yeah, dignity and respect in the White House. Good to know a real serious person, a grown-up, is in charge. NOW PHAEDRUS AGAIN... That's a great leader- CYA and every man for himself. I'm also getting sick and tired of the rightie media carping about the Democrats don't have a unified stand on Iraq; BS they do. Its Bush has screwed up, and its time to change FROM NO PLAN FOR VICTORY to A PLAN. Any plan, so long as it has metrics that can be measured, "what gets measured gets done, what gets rewarded gets done." No plan, no goals, no results. this is what happens when a bunch of alcoholics stratergize... FUBAR |

| I posted a link on "Mr. Snow Returns to Washington" by AA, regarding the march to war with Cheney and George Tenet. The Dark Side which aired on Frontline is recommended viewing. The next showing is Thursday 6-22-06 at 12:00 am, and Friday 6-23-06 at 4:00am. If possible record it or view from the PBS link below. You will be amazed the crap Cheney and the Bush Administration pulled. [link:www.pbs.org] |
