Caucasian American Men of Arizona State University. This is the newest organization trying to develop at ASU in Tempe. They have asked for the full recognition of ASU just like the Young Republicans, the Young Democrats, the Mexican American club and the African American clubs.

But this isn't going as well as they had hoped. I can tell you why in one word, RACISM. Yep folks racism is alive in well in America, and is most active today at Arizona State University.

Now so far the University has not chimed in with an answer from the news reports I have heard, however the public (and I mean the public on campus) has already started to make noise about the idea. As I watched channel 5 CBS news tonight they showed coverage of some of the students as they asked what they thought of the idea. Many were indifferent. Then they asked one African American woman and the first thing that came out of her mouth was "I would want to know what their true intentions are". Now what the hell does that mean? I want to know what the true intentions of the NAACP are. As I understand it is to advance opportunity for Black people. This is a noble cause for sure. Does she think that CAMASU would have any other intention but the advancement of opportunity for Caucasian American men? Is she waiting to hear that they want to round up and lynch all the black kids?

As the Conservative of record writing at the site I wish to endorse whole heartedly the new organization. I feel that they will need support from the public and by God I am here to offer it. Opportunity should be afforded to all kids at ASU to organize into clubs that represent their concerns and needs within the campus community. I would like to offer my services free of charge to speak at their fundraisers, support them both on and off campus, and give them a voice beyond the walls of our most esteemed institution of higher learning in the state.

The fact that this is even getting any publicity is strange to me. If they started an Asian Women of ASU club tomorrow on campus it would not get so much as a mention on the 10 o’clock news. Nor would the One Eyed Gypsies club or the Arabs for Peace on ASU club, but so much as mention that white people, no, white men are trying to start a club exclusive to them and designed to provide them a place to be amongst people with like back grounds and social pressures and we have a story. Here the kicker, the organization was originally thought up by a woman who thought if ASU was going to write the rules about organizing the student body into private clubs they would have to live with their own rules. Good for her (and God I wish I had caught your name).

Now here we sit, 40 plus years after the start of the Human Rights battle and we are actually debating whether or not having an organization like this is racist or not. Well it is not racist to have this group on campus. It is fair!

Why is this a story at all? Why would the first thought of an African American be that there would have to be some ulterior motive for this organization outside of their stated reason?

I have warned all of you that at some pointing time this would happen. I told you that all the reverse discrimination was going to blow up in someones face someday. Well now we have to talk about it.

Every group from the NAACP and the ACLU to the Young Republicans and Young Democrats should be out in force supporting these men’s right to organize. Those who do not can only be suggesting their attitude is in opposition to this organization and for that they should be ashamed.

But what would I know; I’m just an Average American.
