I recently saw the movie Serenity. It was honestly the worst movie I have seen this year. The story moved too fast for the slow action it provided, the fight scenes were amateurish, and from what I could tell the movie was just there to show you what we can do with C.G. and big screen films. I understand there was actually a television series that lasted 8 episodes; I'm personally shocked it lasted for 8. It was interesting in the beginning but as the movie went on it just sort of unraveled. The C.G. sequences were decent though. The concept was good as well but I think they conveyed it wrong, or too fast for my liking.
So I give it a 3/10 stars.
On the other hand Saw 2 was excellent. If you're a fan of the first Saw movie then you will definitely like this one. It has an excellent storyline, one that I've never seen put into film before, which is surprisingly refreshing compared to the other mystery movies I've seen over the past couple years. It is extremely gory and its R rating is just. Movies that have major twists at the end are excellent and leave you actually wanting to see sequels. The only downside to this is that I can see where they could easily turn these movies into a slasher series.
Overall I believe this movie deserves a 9/10 stars.
