What if he brings in trickery and violent campaigning to the show? He will ruin the show!! How dare he!!

Now did you have to make that ad hominen and adolescent attack? Just because you disagree with someone doesn't mean you have to personally attack them. You could be taken more seriously if you stuck to why you think they were wrong.

Your point was what . . . Americans are tired of liberal ideas because they are tired of the dogfight between Clinton and Obama? T-Money believes it's presumptuous to say Americans love liberal ideas. I disagree with both of you. No liberal ideas are being exchanged during this fight between Clinton and Obama. To the contrary, the fight has distracted both of them from really talking about ideas at all. Further, neither of these two are very liberal in the first place; as far as liberalism goes, both of them are pretty milk-toast. So no, Americans are not tired of liberal ideas -- like the liberal ideas within our Constitution. Nor are Americans tired of conservative ideas -- like the conservative ideas within our Constitution.

In a way, T-Money is right. Americans love (or should love) American ideas. I defy anyone to tell me which Amendments in the Bill of Rights are conservative and which are liberal. They're both. These are the ideas we have loved for so long, and these are the ideas we need to get back to.

I here a lot of liberal platitudes but very few liberal ideas that Americans like.

Are you referring to the raising of taxes. Perhaps the pull out from Iraq that we both know neither Democratic candidate will be able to accomplish. Maybe you are talking about the open border policy of sanctuary city idea spreading across the country instead of just a few key cities.

Then again you could be talking about the Socialized Medicine being offered for FREE, which isn't free and which will take yet another tax increase on Americans to finance.

Were they planning on paying off the debt somehow? If so haven't heard about it.

Were they going to bail out all the borrowers who are losing homes today (even though a good part of them were investment properties and the borrowers over borrowed, not our fault) and if so, who's going to pay for that?

About the only thing you have that most ignorant Americans (that is a sub-culture of America and is not representative of the majority who understand it) is your tax increase on those damn dirty rich people.

You have a damn rough road to plow here CLB.

There you go again applying meaningless labels. Do you mean socialized medicine like our socialized police departments, or fire departments, or armed forces, or interstate highways? Oh my! But we are not talking about government owned hospitals and doctors, are we? We are talking about government taking the place of private insurers that stand in between you and your health care -- insurers that exist to maximize profits by denying eligibility to you and payments to doctors. Health care should be the last place where businesses not involved in the actual delivery of health should be allowed to interpose themselves into the system to slow the delivery and spirit away the money.

No one claims that health care is free; we will pay for in the form of increased taxes, but we won't pay for it at the point of service (a point that we will all be at eventually). The proof is in the pudding -- universal single payer health care is cheaper. Countries that pool the risk, eliminate the middle-man, move to the implementation of well-founded evidence-based medicine, emphasize prevention and early treatment, and guarantee coverage for everybody provide better health care results at less expense per capita.

We can't afford to continue the status quo, which provides less care for more and more money. We will be moving to single payer universal health care one way or another. We can't afford not to, and we face certain calamity if we don't. Maybe this is one of the "liberal ideas" that Americans love?

There you go again, mixing up those things that we as a country can not do for ourselves like, defense, fire, police and interstate highways, and those things we as individuals can indeed do for ourselves, like take care of our own health care.

Makes more sense than Uncle Sam doing it... based on what you say the problem is.

But that's not what liberals want. You want the Government to oversee it, you believe they are beter suited to do this. Why? What makes them any more qualified than the insurance companies we have now?

And has anyone factored in the cost of retraining all those people who will be put out of work by the Government taking over 16% of the US economy?

I know you have complete confidence in our Senate, House, President and Supreme Court making these decisions, but I do not. And before you say they will not be making the call, remember who writes the laws, signs the laws and upholds the Constitutionality of the laws.

Sorry MIC, I don't trust Ted Kennedy or John McCain to weigh in on how I get my health care. You think that the insurance companies are just in it for the money... wait until you get a load of what these monkeys (all legislators) can come up with.
