should inform us as to why the USA is so hated and mistrusted; and not only by Moslems.  Since most of us have little knowledge regarding our own history; we are shocked and amazed when the peoples of the rest, the Mideast in particular, of the world know from where they came and respect that history.

The peoples of the Mideast are  ancient peopls; and from Alexander the Great to the French the Brits and the US, they have, somehow, been able to hang on to their culture.  Time and again these proud people have been conquered, by the vain glorious, while pretense is made to save the souls of these 'savages', the real goal here, and throughout the world, has been to rob them of their natural resources.

Now, in this era of satellites, cell phones and the Internet, those we have looked down upon are able to use technology to inform themselves and form their opinions, based on facts, they recognize imperialism when they see it.  To these beleaguered people the crimes committed against them is not ancient history; it is yesterday and today!

We ignore our own history and that of our brothers and sisters around the world at our own peril; if nothing else, the last eight years has proven that in spades.
