A Pathetic Legacy

What a pathetic little man this outgoing AG is.

He made a statement this morning that he has been privileged to live the American dream.

Well, good for him. But very bad for us.

While he has lived the American dream, he has been instrumental in visiting a fascist nightmare on our house. In his slavish servitude as lapdog to the Bush regime, he has condoned torture and called the Geneva Convention “quaint”. He put the final piece in place to bring the Justice Department under the political control of this despotic regime, a huge blow to the Justice Department's credibility and to the separation of powers under our treasured Constitution.

May his legacy chronicle the Gonzales “American dream” as the “American Nightmare” it has facilitated for America.

I pity his kids. When the three Gonzalitos grow up and fully comprehend just how pathetic their father really is, they will be in counseling for life. Que triste!

This was too easy. Something much worse is either coming, or is being hidden that would have come to the surface as Gonzo is pressured had he still been in his job. Perhaps the Democrats have cut a deal with the Neocons in kind, they got Gonzo to resign. Too clean, too easy. Something is not right here.

Or, perhaps neoconism is an ideology, and Gonzo has reached political maryterdom by falling on his sword for Neoconism. Perhaps he feels like the will be glorified somehow in the political afterlife. He feels that his kind will live forever.

I still maintain that this was too easy...Something is wrong here.

I am so disgusted with these hypocritical Republicans hiding behind Mom, flag and apple pie. "The American dream" to be sure. Somewhere along the line someone should have educated him to the fact that the Constitution and Bill of Rights is the Real soul of America. This lapdog from the Bushes missed out on that training, or maybe decided it was in his best interest to swear allegience to the Bushes.

American Dream from him? My ass!!

This Gonzo hasn't got a clue. Don't let him get away with wrapping himself in our "American Dream" to deflect criticism/investigation/indictment/punishment.

It is funny that you say "this was way too easy". I too have had that same sense. I have also developed an incredibly skeptical side that agrees that something is up and Gonzo's departure is a deflection for whatever that may be. I have developed that skepticism with the past actions. Unfortunately, this action was so big in the face of the media that probably missed what the real issue was!

It is so hard to measure and assign an adequate level of pathetic, indi616, when the cesspool of obscene and illegal behavior by these NeocoNazis in control of our government is so deep.

Good observation, MoronInCharge. We do have to pity the "three Gonzalitos". These three amigos will hopefully rise above the legacy of shame bequeathed them by Senior Gonzo and do great things for America. It could happen.

Couldna said it better myself, Season of Reason. This "lapdog" would have fit right into Hitler's Third Reich of docile yes men and political gophers.

And Zanubiyah and Free Thinker, I certainly share your suspicion that there is a smarmy transaction going on under the table by Bush Inc. Anything straight and above board would be breaking news.

Now Gonzo is being investigated by the Justice Department he himself ran into disrepute. Talk about poetic justice! This could not have happened in Hitler's Third Reich. God bless America under its Constitution and Bill-of-Rights.
