Kucinich read into the record for almost 5 hours at the US House yesterday, June 9, will be difficult to get support for is that the Democratic leaders of the House and Senate were notified on many if not all of these crimes Bush committed, but said and did nothing. 

“Now, if they were to admit they knew, they would be complicit in the impeachment crimes.  He made sure they, the leaders, were in on it so that it would be his get out of jail free card!”

AzModerate built a rhetorical escape hatch with "that work" clause. No doubt any of the Bush administration's big ideas such as reshaping the Middle East to have democratic governments and free people, reorganizing the US internal security apparatus to enable information sharing, or reforming social security with partial privatization will be dismissed as "not working" in rote accordance with Progryssve dogma. Dispassionate analysis of the evidence is not allowed because as Arianna Huffington writes in her latest book "there are not 2 sides to every issue" dissent is not to be tolerated. Dangerous thing to Progryssves this competition of ideas, it might lead to real change instead of thought-free compliance while chanting "change." Progryssves can't tolerate that prospect.

Let's apply the "ideas that work" standard to some of Obama's recycled Leftist policy positions. Surrender to our enemies in Iraq will bring peace, there are no objections from the more than a million Vietnamese and Cambodians slaughtered by the Communists after the US pull-out so that must have been a success. Increased spending on education succeeds in placating the teachers union, we don't need to look at it's failure to improve education. Redistributing the wealth with taxation doesn't create prosperity but hey, who could argue with free money? Socialized medicine worked out so well for the lucky few in Canada they had to ban private healthcare and there are hospitals just over the US border that accept Canadian money, but who is hard-hearted enough to question the pleas of a 12 year-old for "free" healthcare so mom & dad can send him to private school?

Oh well, at least Obama and dutiful Progryssves show a commitment to recycling.       

Sorry about the million dead Cambodians and Vietnamese after the US withdrawl. Are you sorry about the 2 million dead during the US involvement? Or the 58,000 dead Americans?

The reality was in SE Asia, that the Vietnamese needed a political solution. With a million US GI's interferring in their domestic troubles, that solution was never going to be reached. After we left, they got the issue solved in 5 months. Then the killing ended. The people of Vietnam decided their own fate.

Just as the Iraqis, ultimately, will do as well.

Thanks for buttressing my point about Obama's doomed to fail Iraq surrender policy. You are correct that it took the Soviet backed N. Vietnamese communist dictatorship only about 5 months after they invaded the South to finish most of their slaughter of unarmed civilians and begin their repressive occupation. I suppose if your idea of a "political solution" encompasses wholesale civilian mass murder and an iron-fisted dictatorship then yes they reached a political solution where as Mao said "political power flows from the barrel of a gun." This is a successful model to follow in Iraq? I think not.

Before writing a flip response along the lines of the US is doing the same thing to Iraq as the North Vietnamese did to the South, kindly consider the Iraqis have their own constitution, popularly elected government no negotiating a security agreement with the US, functional opposing political parties, and a free media. None of these freedoms are enjoyed in the worker's paradise of Vietnam after the Communist dictatorship begain their occupation.     

If I get the drift of your reply to Phaedrus, 2 Cents, the casualties experienced in a military action justify continuing or intensifying the fighting - as in, "...so they wouldn't have died in vain"?  

Where I come from, that's called waving a bloody shirt!  It's your right but little wonder that you feel sick a lot of the time!

War used to be considered the last resort - but not the final one if a workable alternative can be found.

I assume the "no" is meant to be "now".  I think you need to read the news more closely aout the nature of the Iraqi gvernment and the "security agreement" that Bush is trying to foist off on al-Maliki.  Those are the sole negotiators!  Furthermore, the majority of the Iraqi parliament has signed off on a letter to Congress which condemns not only the agreement's provisions but the means by which it's being negotiated.  

Why?  Because it's undemocratic!  Even the Iraqis recognize this is but a final attempt by a lame duck to vindicate himself!  Get real and stop spreading lies!
