A little something I must get off of my chest. No it’s not about breast reduction its public transportation.
Every morning I drive to work and every morning there is a bus or two that just pisses me off. Here is the scenario everyone in Arizona believe they MUST have a BIG TRUCK or SUV. Why you ask? I don’t know
Since I drive a small compact non gas guzzling car because I hate the oil companies I always get stuck behind a big Ftrucksuvs so I Cant see around them. And as we all know the aholes that drive these Ftrucksuvs are the worst drivers on the planet. Because these people driving these big trucks don’t realize the bus ahead of them is going to stop every two blocks and sit there I get trapped, the people in the other lanes will not let you out because they evidently cant see my blinker. Or may be they just like to see you trapped.
Here is my point why does the city run busses all day? Why don’t they run them from 10am to 11 am and 2pm-3pm? There existence is to get people back and forth to work right?
Wrong they exist to hall all of the non tax paying lazy a******s to their hang outs. If you were able to pole the people who ride these nhaulers you would probably find 98% don’t pay taxes, are on welfare or milking social security. So why do they run the busses while the people who pay for them are trying to go to work? I know every time the company I work for hired someone who had to ride the bus to work they lasted may be 2 days. Excuse I missed my bus, I was sick, my dog had the crapers, this job sucks etc. The wild thing about it was the manager hired these people at the same rate as every one else, doing the same job. The people doing the same job are never late and take maybe 1 sick day a year and like their job. So just because every once in while some lazy guy gets out of bed and decides he’s going to find a job for today why should have to get stuck behind some fat ass bus driver that cares not how long he backs up traffic.
Wouldn’t it be cheaper for all of us if the city gave each of the people who ride the bus a pass once a week for a cab. Hell it couldn’t cost as much as buying busses, fuel, administration costs, bus stops, cleaning bus stops, accidents caused by busses, bus repair, cleaning, employees like the fat ass the this morning who laughed when I finally got around him.
Public transportation is a public nuisance get rid of it. How many times do you see a bus that is completely full? NEVER
It’s just another way to burn more fuel. I’m sure a bus driving around all day burns more fuel than a 100 cars. If you cant afford a car and insurance like the rest of us by a bike.
Thank you for listening
I feel better now
Love yas

| Mr. Independent, I am curious why you are so against the poor. It is clear that the only way for them to get down town to trade off their food stamps for drugs is via the bus. This also makes handy the food stamp for limited booze market and the ever ambitious welfare money for crack trade. Then there are all the important businesses they need to visit while picking up their fix. The Economic Development building, Planned Parenthood, The Free Aids Clinic, The Unemployment Office (need to turn in those slips showing they've been looking)and the always popular public library where you can pick up books on how to apply for yet more government services brought to you by the always giving American Taxpayer. But that's what the buses are for, not polution control or mass transit, they are for the poor and the lazy. The poor ride them and the lazy drive them. That's why they sit in the middle of the street causing a vertual bloodclot for the major arteries of commerce. And although I do drive a big fat SUV, which I can afford to put gas in and love to drive past homeless and poor people yelling "get a job" I will not take offence you what you said about me and my ILK (yep june using the word you claim to have ownership of). I did forget one class of rider though, the constant whinny liberal, who would have us all follow his lead and ride the beautifully appointed, cracked out, crap smelling buses, so that we could go to bed feeling better about the small step we took that day to save the planet. NEWSFLASH, we didn't make this planet and nothing we do short of a full scale nuclear exchange is going to damage it. It is an amazing ecosystem designed to constantly repair itself. YEP Itself. When we spew out as much pollution in a decade as Mt. Pinotubo and St. Helen's did in two eruptions, I'll worry about our impact on this planet. And Mr. Independent's idea would not put 640 more cars on the road, it would eliminate 250 buses thus providing room for 600 taxi's to hall the human waste around town to pick up my tax money that the government says I have to give them even though they have not done a thing to deserve it. Much Love, and constant appreciation for all your comments, Average American. P.S. A lot of you are going to be mad at this, but most of you will cheer because it's what you think but never have the opportunity or testicular fortitude to say. |

Digg It!

I used the Metro from my condo in Tempe to work in Phoenix 5 plus days a week, for three years- and yes, on some lines the buses run with 5-10 people, even in Rush hour. BUT, all the major lines going to the high job areas - downtown Phoenix, Airpport, Downtown Tempe, Metrocenter- all run full, 4 hours each moring, 4 hours each afternoon. On double- accordian buses, thats 80 plus people. On major lines they run 2 of these bad boys every 15 minutes, so you want 640 extra cars an hour on the streets, in rush hour?
Also, its quite nice to ride to work, read the paper or a book, look around, and not wrry about all the a$$h@77s driving POS chevy compacts 15 mph over the speed limit.
